Haiku Poems from 7HG - Mrs Kelsall's French site
Multi-coloured sky
over glistening water;
Birds in the sunset.
(Alice Christopher)

Warm ball of fire, bright;
Sinking slowly out of sight.
Welcome into night.
(Michael Smaje)

Dark seagulls fly high
over melting golden skies;
rippling water flows.
(Alex Coventry)

Deep, red sunset sky,
Tired birds fly home once more;
Warm sadness I feel.
(Robert Sephton)

Gold, burning sun dips,
Setting fire to the sky:
Level horizon.

Rich, royal, fierce red,
tinted gold like melted light;
Passionate maroon.

Sun sinks out of sight,
leaving the sky brilliant
with gulls' silhouettes.

Darkness starts to creep;
stars begin to appear.
Night time takes over.
(Emma Pottle)

Darkened sunset sky,
Glimmering sea lies so calm;
Cruising seagulls fly.

The sky is golden,
A ripple now in the waves
Sunset sky still calm.
(Bodie Morris)

Golden sun drops down
glistening, rippling sea;
Screeching birds fly home.
(Jonathan Hogarth)

Reflecting calm sea
with birds and a sunset sky;
A beautiful view
(Matthew Davies)

Exotic, clear sea
houses gulls, salmon and fish,
all swaying with grace.
(Lewys Wilson)

Orange and red sun;
Birds squawking over tinted sky;
Dark waters settled.
(Jordan Sweeney)

Gold sun in the sky;
Blue, soft ripples of water.
Sunset paradise.

Black birds hovering
over soft, darkened waters;
Golden sun shines.
(Lewis Knight)

Melting golden sun;
Birds beat against red sky as
silver sea ripples
(Mrs Kelsall)

Gold butterfly wings;
Wings fluttering through the air,
drinking from buttercups.
(Jack McFarland)

Rest for a while,
Perched on a red flower,
A butterfly nap.
(Hannah Robinson)

Landing on flower,
pollen collected gently;
Safely fly away.
(Jason Bowater)

Swooping through blue sky,
over the peaceful valley;
spreading out my wings.

Dodging obstacles;
trees, other birds and people.
A world of my own.

People looking up;
They watch me glide through the air,
amazement in their eyes.
(Tom Blomfield)

Now it's time for tea,
Up, down, side to side - where now?
Wow, there's a fat rat!
(Lauren Sutton)

Flying in blue sky,
Brown buzzard searches for prey
and dives down from sky
(Ethan Davies)

Bird of prey, small mouse;
Buzzard seeking, mouse hiding.
The search has begun
(Matthew Davies)

Hawk swoops through the sky
hunting mice barbarically;
Silver-lined buzzard.
(Kaylesh Patel)

Brown buzzard in flight
challenges and kills rabbits
and soars in glory.
(Lewys Wilson)
Haiku Poems from 7HG - Mrs Kelsall's French site

Rain sparkles brightly,
Glittering rainbow shines down;
Horses gathered close.
(Jack McFarland)

Horses roam through straw,
Dark clouds cover the black skies:
Watery rainbow.
(Alex Coventry)

Brightly-coloured rainbow,
Pretty ponies are grazing.
Quite cold seems the day.

Scarecrow is alone,
every bird has flown away;
that scene is peaceful.

Dark is the sky
Hopefully there will be sun:
They are not lonely.
(Mathilda Hardstone)

The rainbow's fading,
Dull and grey clouds are coming,
Ponies huddling.
(Hannah Rowley-Limb)

Riddles are puddles,
A reflection of questions.
Wet damp answering.
(Alex Smart)

Horses roam through straw,
Dark clouds cover the black skies:
Watery rainbow.
(Alex Coventry)

Ponies left in cloud,
They have a path to follow;
They have a rainbow
(Jessica Bowater)

Ponies standing shy;
Clouds expecting lots of rain;
Rainbow shining high.

Open moor ahead;
Grass to munch on through the day,
Wind through my long tail.
(Hannah Roberts)

Ponies save themselves;
Cloudy, stormy, very wet
black, white, grey ponies.
(Phoebe Arrowsmith)

Damp horses shiver
on a dark and frosty day;
Rainbow shines faint.

Raindrops fall lightly
on the glossy, green, damp grass;
Wishing for sun.
(Laura Charnock)

Other Haiku:

Look at the World
When looking around
you see some marvellous things -
so look at the world!

Buzzard is coming,
His wings block out our sunlight;
Bright sun behind him.

Rainclouds fill dark sky,
ponies huddle together
awaiting the sun.

A jewelled butterfly
sits on dark scarlet flowers,
drinking the nectar.

Golden, fiery sky;
Birds fly over sparkling sea.
Sunset is coming.

When looking around,
you see some marvellous things:
So look at the world!
(Ashleigh Woodland)

Seasons
Baby birds squawking
Rainy days, coloured rainbows.
Summer is not far.

Long, hot summer days,
Blossom pink flowers blooming;
Water fights at night.

Autumn leaves falling;
Brown, yellow, golden colours;
Cold, crisp sunset skies.

Cold, crisp snowy days.
A snowman wrapped up warm.
These are winter nights.
(Megan Bennett)
